General situation
With the characteristics and advantages of Chinese-French education, SPEIT has expanded its faculty team and gradually established a system of faculty members from SPEIT, French institutes and businesses.SPEIT has 63 administrative staff and 38 instructors of whom there are 16 foreign instructors (42%) and 22 Chinese instructors (5 of them are tenure-track associate professors). 27 out of the 38 instructors hold doctoral degrees, making up 71%, and 80% of the instructors that teach basic courses (such as math and physics) or specialized courses hold doctoral degrees. The instructors are all well-educated with international vision. All of them have obtained their master’s or doctoral degrees abroad. They are dedicated and energetic, 87% of whom are under 40 years old.
General situation
SPEIT has been striving to build a stronger faculty team. It has put in place a talent system that brings together instructional researchers, instructors, full-time instructors, foreign visiting professors and part-time business researchers. Instructional researchers are selected based on strict screening for the tenure-track system, to allow for better structured academic disciplines and better hierarchy building.

Foreign instructors are recruited through a global recruitment programme, and for French instructors for preparatory education in particular, SPEIT works together with its collaborative French institutes to align the recruitment of French instructors with how they are contracted locally in France to ensure the high quality and stability of French faculty for preparatory education. In terms of faculty development, new instructors are required to teach students and attend classes as well to learn how senior instructors teach students, in addition to various training sessions at various levels provided for new instructors, to improve their instructional skills.
